Onward, 2008!

Posted by eirene83 at 02:13 PM on January 4, 2008.

I've thought about it for quite a while about what I should resolve to achieve this year, and frankly I was drawing blanks. What should be my goals for the year 2008? And then I figured that resolutions are really just there to remind us to change whatever bad habits we think we have and be a 'better person'; changing our way of life for the better.

So in the end, I figure I'll just settle for this:

Go to the gym more regularly and stop skiving
Instead of resolving to lose a certain amount of weight. Though I do want to lose another 10 pounds and maintain it.

Save 50% of my salary, after 'tax'
(Tax being what I give my mom as spending money )
And not to touch a single cent of it unless absolutely absolutely necessary, the other 50% to be used for everything from meals to transport to travelling.

Stop being irritated and annoyed at the tiniest little things and not lose my temper so often
I find that I'm slowly becoming somewhat a short fuse nowadays, so I'm going to try keep my temper as best as I can.

Beyond that, I can't think of anything else that I would want to achieve and hopefully cultivate for life. Or have I got the wrong meaning of resolutions?

Die, Fishy, DIE!

Posted by eirene83 at 02:14 PM on January 4, 2008 in Foodie stuff.

LOL, did I mention that I had a steamboat dinner on the first? Lots of glorious food coupled with tom yam soup and one of those sweet-ish Japanese base soup... I contributed to dessert by making 2 pineapple Konnyaku fishies with nata de coco innards.

Halfway through eating, we realised we were going to be so full that we weren't going to have any room for desserts so we decided to sacrifice the fish, like so.

Photobucket
Go, little fishy. Swim into the sweet goodness of Kickapoo Joy Juice...

Photobucket
I'm free? Really? O glorious land swimming in peaches and lychees...

Photobucket
Oh cruel death. Stabbed in the back!

So ends it for all poor little Konnyaku fishes...

Post-Holiday Blues

Posted by eirene83 at 02:14 PM on January 4, 2008.

If there was anything to look forward to about going back to work after a nice holiday, then I would say that it would going back on a short work week. It's not so bad when you can tell yourself that you're still working one day less instead of the full Monday to Friday ceaseless grind.

Kind of like slowly easing yourself back to the routine of working... And even better when you have 2 such weeks! The beginning of the year is so kind and forgiving; public holidays here and there to ease the post holiday blues...

Now, if only there were more holidays between May to June so that it's not such a drought!

Nothing Better

Posted by eirene83 at 05:06 PM on January 4, 2008.

The best thing to look forward to on a cold rainy dreary day after a long day at work is a nice hot shower (or bath, if you're lucky enough to have a bathtub).

Possibly the only thing better than that would probably be a nice hot bath and snuggling down under a fluffily thick duvet and going to sleep.

And the only thing that can probably top that would be going to sleep under a fluffy duvet on a cold rainy night after a nice hot bath and knowing that you didn't have to go to work the next day...

Hehehe well, one can always dream...

The Arrogance Of Humans

Posted by eirene83 at 01:26 PM on January 7, 2008 in Thoughts.

I finally got around to watching 'I Am Legend' and truthfully, it scared me more than any horror movie could. I know, I know; it's supposed to be a sci-fi drama thriller but the awful truth of things is, it could very well turn out to be our future.

There will always be someone trying to create a cure to something. I'm not saying that it's bad but when the cure involves tampering with something nature created, it gives me chills. We in all our hubris believe there will be a day when we can take something from nature and change it so that it will cure another thing...

Look at 'The Changeling Plague'; 'I Am Legend'; 'Resident Evil'... Yes, all fictional works but all dealing with something man-made that mutated out of control. I'm not denying that scientists do good work... Yet somehow they seem to have this mind-set that they can prevent any chance of mutation... And that, I think, is something we cannot predict: that whatever we are manipulating now won't mutate or evolve at all in all time to come...

In the arrogance of humans, we believe we can change the world for the better... And that we can predict all the possible outcomes there could be had and that we can neatly sidestep it all. And that is what scares me the most... Because there isn't an absolute guarantee of that.

I'm Dreaming...

Posted by eirene83 at 05:29 PM on January 7, 2008.

Of banana, peanut-butter Nutella chocolate French toast... Or maybe even a savoury ham, cheese, garlic butter spicy peppery French toast...

There's just something about French toasts for me that gets into my brain and sticks to it, like peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth, not letting go until you totally succumb to the calorific glory that is 2 pieces of eggy bread spread with whatever you wish and fried in butter. A lot, a lot of butter.

That said, I think I already know what I'm going to be doing this weekend.

And I wonder why my gym workouts don't seem to have much effect!

McDonald's: International

Posted by eirene83 at 09:16 AM on January 9, 2008 in Foodie stuff.

No matter which part of the world you're in, you can probably find a McD's somewhere about... And chances are, it'll be full. It's just the comfort and the safety of finding something you know, something you're familiar with when in a different country and nobody speaks the language you do.

Of course, I'd rather try the local cuisine than head to that shrine of the golden arches, but still, I'm always tempted to give it a visit (McDonald's, that is) and see what they offer. You can't run away from the McChickens and the McNuggets and all the other Mc-kers... but there'll definitely be a (or several) localised options.

For example, here in Malaysia, we get Prosperity burger and curly fries once a year around CNY period (Beef or chicken patty with black pepper sauce) and porridge (Bubur ayam McD, anyone? ) is a year-round occurence. I know in Amsterdam, they have a croquette burger, a fried patty of mashed potato with mushrooms and thousand island sauce (which was actually pretty good) and in France, they showcase International McDonalds - other countries menu... But that was when I was there so I'm not sure if it's something that goes on all the time.

McD's UK was pretty basic but they did have test market products occasionally, like Japanese Curry Burger. And till today, I regret I never stopped at McD's Macau and tried out their rice patties burger... ( Let's face it, I'm Chinese. To me, the best thing ever would be rice... And glutinous rice patties sandwiching a burger? Yummmyyyy...)

And let's not even get started on the pies and ice-creams! Here, we get boring apple and pineapple (do we still get banana? Have to check on that one...) So I truly want things like berries (Australia), fruits of the forest (UK... But this was years ago), chocolate banana (Thailand), sweet red bean (Hong Kong)... I love Oreo McFlurry and the latest Cornetto McFlurry is pretty good as well... UK doesn't do Oreos, more towards Caramello or Cadbury creme eggs stuff... Which was basically sweet and caramelly.

So as that really annoying Mc-advertisement goes, come down to Mac tonight!...

January 10, 2008

Posted by eirene83 at 02:20 PM on January 10, 2008.

I've had such mixed opinions regarding my current hairstyle...

Overall, guys seem to like it and think it's pretty okay (pretty okay ranging from it suits me to it makes me look really hot...) whereas with the girls, things are a little... meeehhh *tilts hand back and forth*

Some say curls make me look like I have a lot less hair compared to before; others think my fringe is a little kiddish and having a side parting looks a lot more matured... Others just have no opinion.

So overall, it's been a little meehhh... though it is nice going out with the guys since they only have nice things to say. Me, I think curls are a lot more high maintenance than I gave them credit before and well, this is a nice change from all my years of parted fringe.

I already kind of broke my New Year's resolution... I did go to the gym as usual... but I was so sleepy that I slept in the car beforehand and the only reason I stepped into the gym was to take a shower and head back...

Hehehe... and to make things worse, I headed for the pasar malam in the area for dinner and had a happy happy time with all things stick-y... No, I don't mean sticky but food on a stick! Satay, sausage, lok-lok (which means what, boil-boil? )

Ah well, I'll make up for it with double-duty on Saturday!

And I Used To Be Such A Bookworm

Posted by eirene83 at 12:14 PM on January 11, 2008.

I met up with an old friend/ex boyfriend a few days ago since he was back over his summer break and well, although I didn't get to spend much time with him... I think it's pretty safe to conclude that he doesn't seem to have changed much aside from putting on a few pounds, I on the other hand couldn't seem to stop smirking inwardly at the things he said. Which probably just means I'm even more cynical than ever... Or I used to be a little fool that I found him positively fascinating years ago.

But all that aside, we really did have a pretty good chat and he recommended some books which, I must say it, I found positively fascinating. Lol, I'm not laughing at him... but he does recommend books on genres that I really like, pretty much like a flip side of reality. (Take Sebastian and Belladona, for example... [Btw, whoever sent those to me, thanks very much. I loved them ] or the Dark Jewels trilogy...)

Anyway this time around he recommended Simon R. Green's Nightside series and based on what I've heard so far, I've got an inkling that it's a series that I'll enjoy... If not for the fact that it's a long series. I'm a little wary of long running series since I'm not sure how well it'll end. (Take Piers Antony's Incarnations of Immortality... Fantastic... Harry Potter? Meeehhh...)

There used to be a time when I loved books so much I would just buy it anyway since well, it seems like a good book and well... Anyway I'll see if I can budget for it around everything else and see if it's worth the buy.

A Bag For Life

Posted by eirene83 at 05:53 PM on January 13, 2008.

It's been a while since most malls here started introducing the reusable grocery bag in a bid to green the earth, reduce plastic bag usage, reduce the amount of disposed plastic, and all sorts of other reduction.

Unfortunately, the idea never did quite click with the Malaysian buying power, unlike in a lot of other countries where people carrying their own grocery bag is a common sight. It's not like those bags are horrendously expensive and in fact, you can bring any sort of cloth or reusable grocery bag to bag your shopping.

I suppose it could be because we couldn't really be that bothered to bring our own bags and containers while out and as commented by many people, most of us reuse those plastic bag to throw our rubbish in. (I know for most of my friends, we don't bother buying proper bin bags and just reuse the ones we get from the supermarkets...)

And as some suggested in the papers, the Malaysian public lack an incentive to bring their own bags. It's just a fact that the only way to get most of us do anything is because we're spurred by some sort of reward or other. I remember in UK, one place deducted some sum of money whenever you brought your own bag in.

I suppose the idea of a bag for life would be quite hard to catch on here... And having things prepacked for our convenience just makes us lazier to want to change. I wonder if there'll ever be a day if I'll see Malaysians carrying grocery bags around the way I did overseas...

You really have to start working before you realise how important and true it really is to enjoy what you do and be comfortable with it.

Because for the life of me, I really don't see what would possess me to wake up at 6 in the morning to commute all the way to Gombak and be there by 8.15am just so I can attend Court there at 9.

And there wasn't anything for me to do beside take names.

So, for those who are still looking for jobs, love what you do and love where you're at.... Or you'll end up dreading going to work every single day.

Blogging By Mail

Posted by eirene83 at 05:27 PM on January 14, 2008.

The latest round of Blogging By Mail is currently on with the theme of 'Little Things Mean A Lot' and signups are till 02/02... I'm sorely tempted to join not just because of the excitement and anticipation waiting for the package to arrive... But also the excitement of wondering what I would want to send myself.

So the question is: why haven't I signed up already? Because of the cost of postage and if I haven't mentioned it before, I don't trust Malaysian post. I don't trust them to keep it all in one piece and I certainly don't trust them to even deliver it properly. Harsh, but I've had one too many experience with them and my parcels going missing... or worse, my parcel arriving and my contents missing.

Therefore, I'm debating with myself whether or not I want to join or not. All the parcel has to do is get out of the country then it'll be safe... but can I really afford it on top of my current budget now, the buying and the shipping is a question I'll have to consider...

Chocolate

Posted by eirene83 at 10:03 AM on January 15, 2008.

Today was my boss' wife's birthday so we closed up the office and went for lunch. On boss' tab, of course. Cake was of course, chocolate. I mean, you can't really go wrong with chocolate, right?

Wrong. I distinctly remember boss lady telling me she didn't like chocolate when I brought in some chocoalte cookies, yet here boss was saying she liked chocolate cakes... ??

My brother won't touch chocolate cake or ice-cream either, but he'll gladly snarf down brownies and chocolate chip cookies and eat my share of chocolates... So I suppose you could say it just depends on what form it comes in. Charlotte as I recall, doesn't do chocolate much either...

It's really a puzzle. Which got me thinking, why some people really just don't touch chocolates? It's possibly one of the best fail-proof flavours and popular with all ages... yet truly, there are people who don't like it and I just can't understand why. What about chocolate is there to not like?

Anybody out there who doesn't like chocolate, care to enlighten me? And at the same time, I'll gladly offer to eat your share of chocolates to relieve you of the burden.

Adopt A Sheep

Posted by eirene83 at 12:55 PM on January 16, 2008 in Fun stuff.

I'm thinking of adopting a sheep.

Really.

I came across this site that offers for a certain sum a year, for you to adopt a sheep, get pictures of its childhood, milking, shearing etc as well as reap its benefits. This ranges from kilos of cheese and salami, socks (from the wool from shearing la, duh...) and oddly enough, olive oil. In fact, you can even visit your sheep if you're so inclined!

If sheep isn't to your taste, how 'bout adopting an olive tree? Lots of olive oil to your disposal... And if you enjoy the occasional 'sip', adopt a vine. 60 bottles of wine made from your own vine, customised with your own label, shipped right to your doorstep.

Whatever you decide to adopt, you have to option of visiting it and participating in its activities, which is actually encouraged (and if your wallet can support it) and well, frankly I think it's real fun!! Not too sure how my mom will react to kilos of cheese in her fridge though!

Never Take A Bet With An Old Lady

Posted by eirene83 at 10:13 AM on January 17, 2008 in Fun stuff.

An elderly woman walked into the Bank of Canada one morning with a purse full of money. She wanted to open a savings account and insisted on talking to the President of the Bank because, she said, she had a lot of money.

After many lengthy discussions (After all, the client is always right) an employee took the elderly woman to the President's office.

The President of the Bank asked her how much she wanted to deposit. She placed her purse on his desk and replied, "$165,000". The president was curious and asked her how she had been able to save so much money. The elderly woman replied that she made bets.

The President was surprised and asked, "What kind of bets?"

The elderly woman replied, "Well, I bet you $25,000 that your testicles are square."

The President started to laugh and told the woman that it was impossible to win a bet like that.

The woman never batted an eye. She just looked at the President and said, "Would you like to take my bet?"

"Certainly," replied the President. "I bet you $25,000 that my testicles are not square."

"Done," the elderly woman answered. "But given the amount of money involved, if you don't mind, I would like to come back at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning with my lawyer as a witness."

"No problem", said the President of the Bank confidently.

That night, the President became very nervous about the bet and spent a long time in front of the mirror examining his testicles, turning them this way and that, cheking them over again and again until he was positive that no one could consider his testicles as square and reassuring himself that there was no way he could lose the bet.

The next morning at exactly 10 o'clock the elderly woman arrived at the President's office with her lawyer and acknowledged the $25,000 bet made the day before that the President's testicles were square.

The president confirmed that the bet was the same as the one made the day before. Then the elderly woman asked him to drop his pants etc. so that she and her lawyer could see clearly.

The President was happy to oblige.

The elderly woman came closer so she could see better and asked the President if she could touch them. "Of course," said the President. "Given the amount of money involved, you should be 100% sure."

The elderly woman did so with a little smile. Suddenly the President noticed that the lawyer was banging his head against the wall. He asked the elderly woman why he was doing that and she replied,

"Oh, it's probably because I bet him $100,000 that around 10 o'clock in the morning I would be holding the balls of the President of the Bank of Canada!"

The origin of this Canadian story is unknown but it brings luck to everyone to whom it is sent. Whoever breaks the chain would definitely be unlucky.

Cloverfield

Posted by eirene83 at 02:58 PM on January 17, 2008 in Library.

If I had a job as a movie reviewer, then my review of Cloverfield would probably go something like this:

"Couldn't watch it. Was too busy closing my eyes. No, not that scary. Just got really bad motion sickness so stop looking at the screen so I wouldn't throw up all over the floor."

Cloverfield used the same concept as Blair Witch Project, i.e small handheld camera to really give that homemade feel to it. You see it as though through the eyes of the person filming it. No explanations, no background. Just a party, the monster attacking and the fleeing that ensues. Just like how it would be if you were there that night.

Beyond that, I really can't tell you much about the movie. Truly, I was too sick to actually watch it properly so anyone wanting to find out about it, go watch it yourself or wait for the newspapers to review it. I'm pretty curious myself to see how the review goes since I personally couldn't enjoy it much.

Fruits Basket!

Posted by eirene83 at 02:58 PM on January 17, 2008.

I'm just so tired of things. I've been thinking lately and I've recalled so many things where I ask myself why couldn't I have done things differently so that you know, things wouldn't turn out the way they did.

It wasn't as though doing things differently would impose a huge burden on me or something but just... it never occurred to me. Yet these were things that I should have thought about.

There's nothing the matter with me. I'm just tired and a little disgruntled with myself and more than a little disgusted. It's not as though all these things are huge matters, you know... It's just all those tiny little things that keep me asking why couldn't I have thought about it a little instead of just being so... well, thoughtless and reckless...

It's nothing important. That's the worse part. I'm all overwrought about those tiny stupid little things people do do and usually just laugh off. I'm fine, I'm fine. I'm just... tired and I just don't really want to bother anymore. That's all... I'm just... *shrugs* you know.

Okay, even if said guy was boyish looking et al, and looked maybe 15-ish... And maybe I got pregnant at 16.... Do I even look like I'm in my thirties?!?!?????

Oh all the utter insult!! And to top it all off, when I replied no, he asked me back, "You're joking, right?"

Day Away From Office

Posted by eirene83 at 05:09 PM on January 21, 2008.

I spent a better part of my working day poking around UM's law library...

My colleague and I left the office at 11.30 and by the time we commuted all the way to the University, it was already 12.30. Spent another couple of hours hunting high and low for all the case records we needed and photocopying it.

By the time we left, it was already close to 4 and add to that the fact we stopped by Brickfields for "lunch", we got back into the office by 4.45.

If it hadn't been so tiring because of all the walking and the hunting, it would have been fun but as it is, I'm just glad to go home. The fact is, I went from blazing hot sun to freezing cold air-conditioned repetitively the whole day and right now, I've got a pounding head and a sniffly nose.

Arabian Nights

Posted by eirene83 at 01:30 PM on January 22, 2008 in Library.

A long time ago, I had this novel which was sort of spoofed Arabian Nights. I was quite young then, maybe about 13-ish but I definitely liked that book since it kept to the main basic plot of Arabian Nights (Sultan marrying and killing his brides), but funnier with a jealous mother-in-law and Scheherazade creating an entire dreamworld of characters (which eventually come to her rescue) while making eyes at a handsome bodyguard.

Unfortunately, not too long later, my parents decided I didn't like the book (I bought it myself) and donated it to charity. Before the advent of Internet, there was no way I could possibly find the book again (I found it at some bargain corner) and well, now every few years when I remember about it, I try and do a search but frankly, all I dig up is still Sir Richard Burton's version of 1001 nights...

Sigh, I doubt I'll be able to find the book again. I don't know what it's called or who wrote it and frankly, Arabian Nights is so famous that the classic version comes up more often than not... But I would really love to be able to get my hands on it and go through it and see if it's actually as good as I remember it to be.

And at times like this, I wonder if there's a Heaven and if we'll be able to find everything that we ever lost there... (No offence, seriously

Water Fish

Posted by eirene83 at 05:39 PM on January 22, 2008.

Sometimes I take a dip in the gym's jacuzzi after a particularly tiring workout... I like hot water and having hot bubbling water is even better.

Lately though, the water temperature is not so much soothing than boil-a-lobster. At times, I was almost tempted to grab a couple of quail's eggs and see if they'd hard-boil... (Tempted too but didn't, okay... )

So I resorted to dipping in the pool to cool down before heading back to the jacuzzi. I don't and can't swim... But thankfully, the water's only 4 and a half feet deep so I splash around, do crab walk and generally just make a pest of myself to other swimmers...

My favourite is floating and looking at the night sky. I can't float per se... but I cling to the pool side and rest my head on the side and paddle a bit to keep afloat. It's fun and I can generally spend up to 40 minutes there. Plus, I consider it as a continuation of my workout. (Swimming is tiring, no? )

There Are Some Things You Shouldn't Get Wrong

Posted by eirene83 at 09:46 AM on January 24, 2008.

Saying that Casanova is sort of "Shakespeare-ish" is one of them.

One of my colleagues and I were talking about Heath Ledger and what movies he acted in when it struck me that most of his works seemed to have been based loosely around something written... Like, "10 Things I Hate About You" (Taming of the Shrew)...

Well, she agreed with me there... and when I mentioned other examples, like "A Knight's Tale" and "Casanova"... she also said they were sort of "Shakespeare-ish".

...

Weelll.... mistaking the Canterbury Tales for a work of Shakespeare is understandable since well, not everyone is a geeky Literature student right, but Casanova?

Useless AND Hopeless

Posted by eirene83 at 12:00 PM on January 25, 2008.

So I was planning on going to the KL Court today to collect some documents. Since Court closes for lunch between 12.30 to 2, I thought maybe I could go after lunch by bus. I mean, support public transportation, reduce pollution and all that stuff right. So I checked.

First, the Court website was all in BM... And if you wanted directions, all you got was a Google Earth map. Eventually, I found directions from Malaysian Central, and apparently 3 buses to the Court complex and one apparently terminates at a stop close by! Joy.

Search a bit longer. Said bus does not service the route between 9am to 4pm... because it's off peak hours...

-_-"

The only way I could get to Court was if I took a train to Pasar Seni or Masjid Jamek and take the other bus from there. Because. THE OTHER BUS SERVICE FROM KL SENTRAL DOESN'T RUN EITHER BETWEEN 9AM TO 4PM!!!

ONLY 3 BUSES SERVICING THE COURT COMPLEX... AND 2 OF THEM DON'T RUN DURING COURT HOURS!!!

And to top it all off? Where did I find all this marvellous information? FROM WIKIPEDIA!!!

Oh and bus frequency? Every 35 minutes!!!!!!!!

Useless and hopeless, that's what the entire system is.

I had gym appointment at 8 on Saturday... Why so early? Well, partly it was mis-scheduling but partly it was also good since I was sure to get out of bed early and it would still be relatively early and sunny by the time I finished with gym.

So what did I do with all that time?

I finally got around to making cinnamon rolls and brownies... The rolls I've procrastinated for months, the brownies weeks...

I made a half batch of brownie cupcakes since the house is exploding with food, so there's going to be less mouths to eat them. Stuck a marshmallow in the centre and stuck it in the oven. I was hoping that the marshmallows wouldn't melt (Which it did, anyway) but I didn't actually expect the marshmallow itself to explode. (Which it did) So I was left with a sunken brownie cupcake with toasted gooey marshmallow on top. (Which tasted good )

And the cinnamon rolls... Well, I was short of so many ingredients that I got quite frazzled... And dumped in cool water with the yeast.

Which resulted in 1) the bread not rising as much as it should, so the bun wasn't fluffy at all, and 2) pimply dough! because some yeast didn't react!! I had to dig through the dough picking out individual bits of yeast!!! Which I suspect also contributed to the lack of fluffiness...

And well, the dough wasn't easy to handle. It was so soft and sticky, I couldn't slice nice neat rolls like how so many bloggers did... And I forgot basic Maths and expected to get 9 rolls from 9 inches of dough...

Sigh...

On the bright side, making cinnamon rolls wasn't as hard as I thought it to be... and the filling was definitely good... And I know now that I can add extra butter to the whole thing before baking without worry of it being greasy since the bread will absorb it all.

If I finish this batch before Saturday, I'll give it another shot!

Trudi Bussi

Posted by eirene83 at 09:09 AM on January 28, 2008.

I think one of the best thing and my greatest regret about being in the UK was encountering Trudi Bussi soft toys for the first time but not buying it, saying it was just another soft toy. The craze then was for Me To You bears but it wasn't plush. Whereas the toys from the Trudi range was so crazily soft and cuddly, like marshmallow fluff.

It was expensive, very much so... but now, searching online, it's impossible to get a nice big one now. I truly love large plush toys but most of the time, they're so overstuffed and hard whilst hugging a big Trudi toy, your hands sunk into it like hugging a big ball of fur (Which was what it was anyway)...

Ah well... it's not available anymore, those nice big ones... even though it's so crazy expensive, I think now that it's really worth the price for having one big soft toy on your bed that's going to be all soft and cuddly...

Weird Encounter Of The Day

Girl: Good afternoon, miss!

Me: Hello!

Girl: I'm a volunteer.

Me: ... That's good! *smile, wave and walk off...*

Lol... Poor girl. I think she wanted to approach me for a survey of some sort... Except the way she phrased her greeting didn't actually come out so much as she wanted to stop me than it seemed like her making a statement.

I think she was a little stunned by my response while I was left mentally scratching my head why she wanted to tell me she was a volunteer. :D I'm horrible...

If my boss were a movie, then his tagline would read:

"He just likes to be informed."

Where you're going, what you're doing and when you're leaving...

And so it's apparently my fault that I didn't tell him when I had to take a half day to sort out my stuff and couldn't tell him because his door was closed. Apparently, I'm supposed to have messaged him.

...

So who's going to pay for my phone top-up?

Occupational Hazard

Posted by eirene83 at 10:49 AM on January 31, 2008.

I wonder if someone should start listing on contracts paper cuts as an occupational hazard working in a law firm.

Okay, you may think it's tiny but seriously, paper cuts are no joke. I just got one on my right palm while handling a stack of papers... Now it stings and hurt everytime I handle paper since it's situated at the exact spot where papers usually fit in a person's hands.
