Sadistic Seme

Sadistic Seme
Take Are you a Seme or an Uke? today!
Created with Rum and Monkey's Personality Test Generator.

It takes a special kind of uke to handle the punishment you dish out. Making them beg for mercy is what you're all about. You give your uke the gift of pain, and the louder their moans are, the more satisfied with the relationship you'll be. It's no fun if they don't struggle, and struggle and torture is what the Dramatic Uke, your perfect match, lives for.

Hope Kills

Posted by eirene83 at 02:55 AM on February 2, 2007 in Thoughts, Personal as a favorite post.

Or more accurately, despair caused by hope kills.

I mean, there's nothing really wrong with hope is there? It gives us a little something to live for; dream for; reach towards. We all hope for something. Hope to ace that exam; hope to have more time to spend with the family; hope that girl will notice us; hope that having noticed, they'll reciprocate. Just hoping that things will work out.

Imagine how bleak life would be without hope. Endless day in day out, just existing. Not just nothing to look forward to; that would be despair. But a numb existence; not seeing a need to change anything. Something like Equilibrium.

But I think we've all been in situations. We hope. Our heart starts pumping. Stomachs fluttering. Expectations start going up, if not literally soaring sky-high already. And then... One little needle-prick and poof, the bubble bursts.

Despair. Agony. Deepest of darkest and all that. Gut-wrenching and pretty much sucks the life and soul out of you. It's horrible. It hurts. And yeah, you could pretty much kill yourself, no?

I know, I know... It's not Hope's fault... We should just learn to stop expecting so much and be more realistic and not expect miracles then it wouldn't be as crushing if things didn't work. Rein things in. Pace the hope. But it's also a little of human nature. To be able to soar so high... but also plummet just as far down.

Chocolate Angel Food Cake

Posted by eirene83 at 11:45 PM on February 2, 2007 in Recipes.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup cake flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 tsp salt
12 egg whites
1 1/2 tsp cream of tartar

  1.  Combine 3/4 cup sugar with the flour, cocoa powder and salt and sift twice.
  2. Beat the egg whites until frothy then add the cream of tartar.
  3. Add the remaining sugar, 2 tbspful at a time into the egg mixture and beat until stiff peaks forms.
  4. Sift 1/4 of the cocoa mixture into the egg white mixture and fold. Repeat for the remaining cocoa mixture.
  5. Pour into an ungreased pan and bake for 35-40 minutes in a 170oC preheated oven.

Angel food cake consists mainly of egg whites, sugar and flour. The foamy egg whites and the lack of fat in the ingredients contribute to the light, airy texture that angel food cake is famous for... Rather a lot like our chiffon cakes.

Traditionally, angel food cake is baked in a tall tube panwhich will ensure that the heat is distributed evenly to the batter and thus cooked quickly. But me being me I used my muffin pan instead.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Because I actually used leftover egg whites (from the traditional kuih bangkit the day before), I didn't manage to achieve the stiff peaks necessary to leaven the cake... so I ended with a rather... chewy crumbly cake... So yea, not quite angel food cake. Note to self... always use fresh eggs whenever possible. But anyway, the only reason I made this was to use up the egg whites so yeah... I may or may not try this again. Not quite that fond of baking huge cakes anyway.

Doing things changes things.
Not doing things... leaves things exactly as they were.

Time changes nothing.

The things people do; naming events, highlighting days, giving random symbols significance...

It's all unimportant compared to the action itself. As long as we do something, it's not necessary to call it by something, to give it some image to make it significant...

I need to remember that.

Blue Vase
By: Ivy Blossom

Summary:
Draco finds Harry after the war working as a type setter. He means to get revenge on him, but watching him seems more satisfying. One day Harry's memory vanishes. What will Draco do then?

***

I like this story...  Dunno why; just do. It's simple and it gives a sense of just meandering around. An ordinary day in an ordinary life. Nothing special, just belonging, just fitting in.

I suppose you could call it sweet... which it is... and I guess sometimes we all just want to forget. Forget and start all over again... Even with lies... Because sometimes those lies can become the sweetest truths.

New SIM Card

Posted by eirene83 at 04:47 PM on February 5, 2007.

Hello people!

Just to say; I've lost my SIM card and thus... all the hundreds of numbers in my address book.

I've got a replacement SIM card from the Digi centre earlier... it's still the same number, so if you all could send me a text with your name or give me a call, I would be most grateful...

Or if you've been trying to lose contact with me... this is your big chance to do so!

So yeah... if I was supposed to call you or agreed to meet up with you, very sorry... but no number to call...

I was admiring the night sky earlier after class...

I just realised that lately I've been so busy, I haven't looked up into the sky for quite some time.

It was beautiful... Silvery little specks dotted across a velvety dark blue-gray expanse. Then I turned around...

And promptly got blinded by my house's sensor light.

Ah, me...

Double Chocolate Chip Cake

Recipe adapted from the Baking Sheet!

Ingredients:

1 cup butter, room temperature
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
2 cups buttermilk

4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt

4 oz bittersweet chocolate (or semisweet), chopped and melted
4 oz white chocolate, chopped and melted
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 160oC and grease a pan thoroughly.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light. Beat in eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  3. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  4. Add the flour mixture and buttermilk to the butter mixture in 3 or 4 additions, mixing only until no flour remains.
  5. Scoop half the batter into another bowl.
  6. Stir in the melted chocolate into one bowl.
  7. Stir in melted white chocolate into the other half.
  8. Divide chocolate chips and stir half into each bowl.
  9. Pour chocolate batter into pan then pour white chocolate batter evenly and tap gently to smooth surface.
  10. Bake cake for 70-75 minutes. Allow cake to cool in pan for 20 minuts then turn out to cool completely.

I like this cake! It turned out wonderfully moist though a little on the crumbly side. It's not quite the original recipe for "Double Chocolate Peppermint Chip Cake" in Baking Sheet's January 2007 archive but it's really minor changes.

One word of caution though: I would recommend halving the recipe because I ended up with a lot of batter. Also it turned out a bit too much on the sweet side for me, so maybe cutting down the sugar might be a good idea... Otherwise I love this. Really tasty and moist without being so dense to point of feeling like a brick in your stomach!

Miracle Forever

I quite like this newest version of Miracle by Lancome...

It's sweet, but not too sweet. Musky but not overly. There's something about the scent that catches your interest without being too in your face or too strong. It has a presence but subtly so... It makes you notice it... but not to the extent of wanting to sneeze (Well... I'm not speaking for those of you out there who are allergic to perfume la...)

And it goes on smelling exactly the same way as it does on paper and has pretty good staying power.

But at RM260 per 100ml bottle... if ever I decide to get it, it'll probably be the most expensive perfume in my collection.

Last Kiss

Posted by eirene83 at 06:02 PM on February 9, 2007 in Music - Songs & Lyrics.

Oh where, oh where can my baby be,
The Lord took her away from me.
She's gone to heaven so I've got to be good,
So I can see my baby when I leave this world.

We were out on a date, in my daddy's car,
We hadn't driven very far,
There in the road, straight up ahead,
A car was stalled, the engine was dead.

I couldn't stop, so I swerved to the right,
I'll never forget the sound that night.
The screamin' tires, the bustin' glass,
The painful scream that I heard last...

Chorus

When I woke up, the rain was pouring down,
There were people standin' all around.
Something warm going through my eyes,
But somehow I found my baby that night.

I lifted her head, she looked at me and said
"Hold me darlin' just a little while."
I held her close, I kissed her our last kiss,
I found the love that I knew I had missed.

Well now she's gone, even though I hold her tight,
I lost my love, my life that night

I just heard this on the radio... It's been such a long time since I've heard it playing on air... Really liked it when it came out... about a decade ago?

Based on a real story.

Music

"If music be the food of love, then play on..."

~Duke Orsino; Twelfth Night, Act 1 Scene 1

Music plays quite a role in love, relationships and the ceasing of love. Fall in love and everything you hear becomes a song. Every song captures the emotions you feel. Every emotion is beauty itself... And beauty is the sight of the one you love.

Fall out of love and you glut yourself on those same songs, every word bringing up now-painful memories and choking you on them, to the point you can no longer see.

And truly, like Orsino, we only seem to stop when we have oversaturated our systems with more love/pain than we can handle...

Ah well...

3-cart Pileup

Posted by eirene83 at 01:29 AM on February 13, 2007.

I've broken a cup, cracked a plate, walked into the altar outside my house and finally today, I was involved in a 3-cart pileup...

And it's only Tuesday...

I seriously hope this is all the bad luck from 2006 leaving me, so when the new year rolls over this Sunday, I'll have better karma.

Sigh...

Now I need to go rub my solar plexus from where it met the handle of the trolley, my lower back where it got rammed by the trolley behind me (laden down with four(!!!!) cartons of beer), my shins from where it got crushed against the trolley... and put a plaster on my toe when my trolley ran over it, tearing off the skin in the process....

...

SIGH!!!

I seriously hope this is all happening to throw away bad luck for an auspicious start this Sunday!!

Summer Food

Posted by eirene83 at 02:27 AM on February 13, 2007 in Food, snacks & restaurants, Foodie stuff.

I was flipping through the Yellow Post when I came across a small article about sun-flavoured noodles...

What the...?

The noodles are dried in the sun with the wind blowing, to apparently give it the flavour of the sun... Soumen is considered to be good food to counter the Japanese summer heat...

Well now, that's the first time I ever heard something like that... But which got me thinking. A couple of years back, I read another article that Japanese considered grilled eel to be good for countering summer heat...

And in Fruits Basket... Shougayaki, grilled pork with ginger...

I wouldn't know about soumen and unagi... but ginger being good for dealing with heat? There's something a little wrong with that concept... So I Googled and lo and behold:

According to Eastern medicine, blood concentrates near the skin in hot weather in order to cool the body, and this may lead to bad blood circulation in the stomach and muscles. For this reason, it is not uncommon to lose one’s appetite or feel exhausted in summer.

On those days, people will want to eat foods that warm the body. One might ask: why eat hot foods when the weather is already so hot? From ancient times, the custom was based on the Oriental medicinal theory that even though there is heat in the body, the internal organs are relatively cold. It was believed that by warming up the inner body, not only would one overcome summer heat, it would also prevent illness and fatigue.

So now you know! When in hot weather, eat food that will warm your body! Me, I'm sticking to my watermelons and ice-cream!

Prediction of the Year

Posted by eirene83 at 04:19 AM on February 17, 2007.

Every time the year ends and a brand new year rolls around, the papers will be flooded with fortune-telling and horoscopes and predictions of how the year will be for each star sign/zodiac animal/whatever...

I think... Mine should read something like:

Avoid all trolleys and carts. They will have an evil attraction to your toes.

Because after the accident a couple of days back... I now have a matching cut on my other leg after a trolley ran over it today.

I like where I'm at; what I'm doing and the people I'm doing it with; I secretly like being dared to do things because I actually want to do it.

I like who I am...

And I like how we can talk so much and laugh like crazy. I like that you're right here, right now.

I know it's fast. But I like you. But I also know it probably won't work out; that it never was meant to. I know it's impossible. But that's not important. I just like you...

Do you?

Are you around?

Do you care?

Are you even reading this?

Just me being sleepy and wondering... Not sad. Just curious. Does it scare you?... It doesn't really matter... After all, this isn't real.

Dessert Quiz

Posted by eirene83 at 10:26 PM on February 18, 2007 in Fun stuff, Foodie stuff.

LOL, came across this quiz just now... Doesn't it seem a little familiar, my dear fellow blind-date friends?

~*~*

If all of the desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which would you choose? (Pick only one! And don't cheat!)

Your choices are:

  1. Angel food cake
  2. Brownies
  3. Lemon meringue pie
  4. Vanilla cake with chocolate icing
  5. Strawberry shortcake
  6. Chocolate cake with chocolate icing
  7. Ice cream
  8. Carrot cake

Made your choice yet? Then highlight below to see the answers.

1. Angel food cake
Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all warm and fuzzy items. A little nutty at times. Sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times.

2. Brownies
You are adventurous, love new ideas, are a champion of underdogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up you whip out your saber. You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor and direction. You tend to be very loyal.

3. Lemon meringue pie
Smooth, sexy, & articulate with your hands, you are an excellent after-dinner speaker and a good teacher. But don't try to walk and chew gum at the same time. A bit of a diva at times, but you have many friends.

4. Vanilla cake with chocolate icing
Fun-loving, sassy, humorous, not very grounded in life; very indecisive and lack motivation. Everyone enjoys being around you, but you are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad. However, you are a friend for life.

5. Strawberry shortcake
Romantic, warm, loving. You care about other people, can be counted on in a pinch and expect the same in return. Intuitively keen. Can be very emotional.

6. Chocolate cake with chocolate icing
Sexy; always ready to give and help others. Very creative, adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. You can appear to have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Afraid to take chances sometimes. Will not settle for anything average in life. Loves to laugh and be happy .

7. Ice cream
You like sports, whether it be baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.

8. Carrot cake
You are a very fun loving person, who likes to laugh. You are fun to be with. People like to hang out with you. You are a very warm hearted person and a little quirky at times. You have many loyal friends.

First Outing

So barely a week after Valentines, us blind-daters (nope, don't think that word exists... I just made it up) met up for dinner. Unfortunately, Jan was still in Ipoh, Siew and Shih Ying had other plans... which is kinda sad since Shih Ying's leaving on Wednesday back to Sydney... so it'll be a while before we see her again.

Hahaha, I was teased by Quan for being late as the organiser... Sorry la, but I was just 10 minutes late... Not too bad considering I jammed all the way back from Malacca, rushed home to shower then rushed back out again, right?

Cafe 1920... since everywhere else was jammed pack. Pretty good food... as far as I know... Opinions, everyone? And pretty generous helpings. Good food, great company... What else would a person need for dinner, eh?

Great conversation, that's what... And that we had in abundance. Hahaha, we covered so many diverse topics with lines flying from one side of the table to the other and people crossing conversations like some master trapeze artist.

Hahaha, I also remember when Serena, Masami and I brought out our slashiness and made all the guys look around at the ceiling and go, "Oo-kaaayyy..."

Anyway guys... I'm really glad that we met for dinner... Since after this, most of us will be busy or not in the country... Hopefully we'll maintain contact, kays instead of gradually drifting apart! Maybe with enough dinners and outings, we'll be able to pull another Valentine's dinner off next year... A proper dinner!

Doubletree Chocolate Chip Cookie

Posted by eirene83 at 12:36 AM on February 23, 2007 in Recipes.

Recipe adapted from the Baking Sheet!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup rolled oats (oatmeal)
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, room temperature
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar
2 large eggs
3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 170oC.
  2. Grind oats in a food processor until very fine and almost powdery. Combine the oats with the flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon in a medium bowl.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  4. Beat in the vinegar, then add the eggs in one at a time. Gradually add in the flour mixture on low speed.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips and walnuts by hand.
  6. Divide dough into 2 tbsp balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet (dough can also be chilled for a slightly less-spread out cookie), leaving about 2 inches between each ball so the cookies can spread.
  7. Bake for 13-15 minutes, until golden at the edges.

YUMMMY!!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I love this cookies... They're delicious, crisp, buttery, light and utterly filled with chocolate chips!! But I'm not sure if I went somewhere wrong with the methods or whatnot, but be warned... These cookies will spread when baked... And I mean, spread. From a simple 2 tablespoonful of dough, I got a cookie about 5 inches wide. I dunno if it's meant to spread like that originally or due to the reduction in sugar I used...

Still, it's a pretty good cookie... Next time I try this, I'll probably use more cinnamon... and maybe freeze the dough then slice and bake. Hopefully that'll reduce the spread ... But tastewise, this is fantastic!

Posted by eirene83 at 03:56 PM on February 24, 2007.

Am sitting in an internet cafe currently typing this... I haven't visited one since oh sayy... since I was 15 and internet and IRC mamak was all the rage and having a broadband connection at home was practically unheard of.

Since I already have Streamyx at home, why am I sitting in a cyber cafe? Well... for one, I needed to get some stuff printed out (RM0.50 per b&w page!! Robbery!) and also... I left my house a bit too early for class today, so decided to kill some time... Also I think I might have exceeded my online quota this month

Hahaha... Besides, I like sitting in a cyber cafe... Well, when the other patrons aren't busy playing CS and screaming profanities at each other from across the room. Plus the connection is heaps better than what I get at home. Only thing is to get used to using IE instead of Mozilla.

I might do this again soon!

CNY: The Aftermath

Posted by eirene83 at 08:02 PM on February 25, 2007.

Well... it's back to class for me today. I know that for a lot of people, they already started work on Wednesday... but yaahh, from what I saw of the attendance today, looks like it's still holiday mood for most of the students.

So... What did I do? Nothing much; went out for a few dinners, some drinks... almost absolutely no bai nin since pretty much everyone else went back to their hometowns...

Oh... and also spent nearly every day of the holiday going to bed at 6am and waking up at 12.... Jeez, my eyes are so bloodshot right now despite getting 8 hours of sleep!

Ahh, looks like I'm going to need a holiday after this holiday! Getting back to my daily schedule of studying will be good for me! I can't believe I'm actually saying this... but yeah, I think I have a healthier, more relaxed lifestyle when I'm not on holidays. It'll be good to hit the gym again.

Damnn... that hurts...

Posted by eirene83 at 06:53 PM on February 27, 2007.

Man... Life sure has a way of making you feel like kicking yourself hard. When I came back from UK some 18 months back, I did a lot of clearing up and throwing away stuff... Including a whole bunch of letters from the times I used to do corresponding heavily...

Don't ask me why; at that point in time there wasn't any sentimental value nor did I think that I would want to refer back to those times...

Well, yeah... Life just made me feel like kicking myself hard... Coz now due to new beginnings and occurrences in my life, I just had a sudden urge to read those letters and see what I wrote and whether there was anything in it that connects to today... And I can't... coz I threw those letters away.

Damn!

How Did I Fall In Love With You?

Posted by eirene83 at 06:55 PM on February 27, 2007 in Music - Songs & Lyrics, Personal as a favorite post.

Those days are gone, and I want you so much
The night is long and I need your touch
Don't know what to say
I never meant to feel this way
Don't want to be
Alone tonight

What can I do, to make you mine
Falling so hard so fast this time
What did I say, what did you do?
How did I fall in love with you?

I hear your voice
And I start to tremble
Brings back the child that, I resemble

I cannot pretend, that we can still be friends
Don't want to be,
Alone tonight

HP Fic of the Week

A Thousand Words
By: Annie

Summary:
Five years after the second war, the Ministry of Magic proposes an interdepartmental challenge in an attempt to restore trust between workers. Unknowingly, Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy are assigned as partners. As the two begin to write to each other under the nicknames Starlight and Shadow, their careers outside of their letters become entwined as well. Obsessions grow out of control, friendships are shattered, and all the while, the threat of a second era of darkness looms above the wizarding world. What happens when Starlight and Shadow begin meeting in secret? And will the two ever discover who the mystery on the other side of the page is?

***

Work in progress but I think it's close to being finished... I really like this piece all things considered... Sure maybe Draco seems a little too bitter and sullen and withdrawn for my liking... but other than that, it's drawn out nicely, the interaction is good... and it's a lot like "You've Got Mail"... Hahaha, too bad something like that won't happen really in real life!

Dentist... bloody...

Posted by eirene83 at 08:36 PM on February 27, 2007.

Had to send my mom to the dentist earlier today... She bit on a piece of bone during dinner some 2 weeks back during dinner and was complaining how much it hurt and was wondering if she injured her capped tooth.

A few days after the dinner she went to the dentist but he couldn't find anything wrong... Forgive me for being cynical but I find it amazing how suddenly 2 weeks later, he realises that it wasn't actually her capped tooth but the tooth next to it that was cracked. Wow! Imagine! He could tell nothing was wrong with the capped tooth but totally failed to notice the crack in the next tooth!

Bloody... *mutters mutters mutters*

He could have saved my mom some 2 weeks of pain if he had actually been more thorough and done his check properly...

Bloodsucker!

How To Touch A Girl

Posted by eirene83 at 02:47 AM on March 1, 2007 in Music - Songs & Lyrics, Personal.

I think I could like you
But I keep holding back
'cause I can't seem to tell
If you're fiction or fact
Show me you can laugh
Show me you can cry
Show me who you really are
Deep down inside
Do you feel something happening
Could this be for real?

Do you know how to touch a girl?
If you want me so much
First I have to know
Are you thoughtful and kind?
Do you care what's on my mind?
Or am I just for show?
You'll go far in this world
If you know how to touch a girl

Bring me some flowers
Conversation for hours
To see if we really connect
And maybe if we do ohhhh
I'll be giving all my love to you
